About Me

Hello, I am Amber Oldenburg the owner and chief researcher at One Branch at a Time Genealogy. I consider myself an accidental genealogist, having only discovered my passion for genealogy a couple years ago. I am currently a full-time student pursuing a degree in Family History Research from Brigham Young University- Idaho. In addition to researching for clients, I volunteer with the Genealogical Society of Marion County where I currently serve as the secretary, as well as, the Indiana Chapter of Palatines to America. I also volunteer my time indexing records for FamilySearch and the National Archives. I am actively involved with my local chapter of the Association for Professional Genealogists and the Indiana Genealogical Society. I specialize in United States Midwest research, but I also have experience with German and British Isles research. When I am not working for clients or researching my own ancestors, I can be found at genealogy conferences, reading a book, traveling with my family, or baking.
